CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46) - Multiple reports of a pellet gun being shot into the Marshbrooke Neighborhood on Halloween Night and at least two kids hurt by them.
The mother of one the kids, Sandra, didn’t want her last name mentioned, but said it was a very scary moment for them.
“She was screaming bloody murder," Sandra said. "Pow, pow, pow, we were like what is that? And all of the sudden she screamed."
Her daughter, 7-Year-Old Samantha was hit in the back with a pellet gun while they where heading back from Trick or Treating with her sisters and friends.
“I started crying and I hoped she didn't die and I wanted her to stay alive," Samantha’s sister Aleisha said.
Sandra says a group of teenagers in hoodies came out of nowhere on Old Gate Road and started screaming at them, that’s when they then fired the gun.
"I’m just glad it wasn't a real gun that they had. Thank god! And they didn't hit her in the eye," Sandra said.
Samantha wasn't the only person hit on Halloween night. Another teenager on Idlewild Road near Independence Road was walking home when the pellets hit him.
"I would hate to think that they done that purposely, I really would, that they meant to hit a person because that's just mean, cruel," Sandra said.
Another police report stating, two cars also shot at on Old House Circle shattering the passenger window.
The only evidence FOX 46 could find where pieces of glass on the driveways.
Neighbors tell FOX 46, it's not the first time their homes and cars have been vandalized but it's the first time they've heard of someone being hurt. Now, they say the teens have gone too far and want police to put an end to it.
"I do hope they catch them, I do hope that, I hope somebody got a good look at them, because i did not"
"Did this ruin your Halloween night?” Fox 46 Reporter Yolian Ortiz asked.
"Yes!" Samantha said.
