Thieves strike again in Cornelius, this time stealing flower pot

- A woman was caught on camera stealing from a neighbor's front porch in a quiet neighborhood in Cornelius.

"So bold and so brazen just to come up and steal a plant and she wasn't in a hurry. She wasn't sneaky, she wasn't wearing black."  Danielle, who asked we not use her last name, tells FOX 46 Charlotte, the woman walked up on her porch last Sunday around 8 pm, after she'd just gotten home and put out pumpkins to decorate the house for fall to match her mums.

On Monday, she came out to water her plants and found her flower pot missing.

"I looked behind the bush, I looked to see if it fell over and it's just missing completely," Danielle said

That's when she went in search of footage from her surveillance camera and there they were.

"Takes one of the plants, walks back to her, just like she was picking it up at the store," Danielle said.

Regardless of what was stolen, Danielle still wants this woman to be held accountable to make sure this doesn't happen again and doesn't continue to get worse.

"It does seem kind of silly, I mean I even told the officer, I know this seems ridiculous but what if this week it's a flower pot and next week it's a car," Danielle said.

The Cornelius Police Department releasing the surveillance video on their Facebook page to see if anyone recognized the thieves. One even wearing a distinct leg brace but no one has come forward.

Danielle says since Sunday, neighbors have come forward saying other items have gone missing too

Now she wants these thieves stopped.

"It feels like an invasion of privacy and it feel like they've burst the safe bubble that we have here because we have such a quiet community," Danielle said.
