Three arrested for cocaine and meth possession at Iredell County rodeo event

- Three men have been arrested after deputies said they were caught with cocaine and methamphetamine in their possession at an Iredell County rodeo event. 

On Sunday, April 8, deputies with the Iredell County Sheriff's Office were working security at a rodeo which was being held at the Van Hoy's Campground in Harmony where they noticed three men near a wooded area acting suspiciously. 

The deputies walked up to the three men, identified as Juan German Vazquez-Pineda, 39, of Wilkesboro, Juan Jose Alarado Ibarra, 21, of Burlington, and Rufino Iturbe Jimenez, 40, of Charlotte, and started questioning them about why they were in this particular area of the campground. 

While speaking with these men, they became evasive in their answers. The deputies conducted a pat down search and located drugs and paraphernalia on all three men. 

In all, deputies collected 10 baggies containing cocaine packaged to sell and three baggies containing methamphetamine packaged to sell. All three men were taken into custody and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center. 

Vazquez-Pineda is charged with felony possession of schedule II (cocaine), felony possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance (cocaine), and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Alarado Ibarra is charged with felony possession of schedule II controlled substance (cocaine), and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Jimenez is charged with felony possession of schedule II controlled substance (cocaine), and felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell of deliver schedule II controlled substance (methamphetamine).
