CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46) - Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have arrested three teenagers involved in an attempted armed robbery that led to a police chase in northeast Charlotte Tuesday morning.
Detectives have charged a 14 and 15-year-old for their involvement in these cases. A third suspect, Ronald McQueen, 16, has been charged for the attempted robbery.
Around 9:00 a.m. officers received a call for a stolen vehicle on Dove Tree Lane. The victim told police she was warming up her vehicle in the driveway when it was stolen.
Officers discovered the two incidents were related. Not long after officers found the stolen vehicle and initiated a traffic stop.
The suspects refused to stop the vehicle and a vehicle pursuit began on Milton Road towards The Plaza, according to police.
Officers lost sight of the vehicle near The Plaza. As they approached the intersection in the 6000 block of The Plaza they witnessed a three vehicle wreck.
One of the vehicles involved was the stolen vehicle. When officers arrived on seen they were told that the suspects had left the scene on foot.
Officers saw the suspects running off and began to chase them. They said the two of the three teens were arrested shortly after the collision at the Plaza and Milton.
During the investigation, officers located the third suspect, McQueen, and charged him for the robbery on Hunters Oaks Lane. McQueen will be transferred to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.
The two 14 and 15-year-old juveniles will be transferred to a juvenile facility.
Police say two victims from the vehicle wreck were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
