One person had to be extricated from a wreck on Interstate 85 northbound Monday morning. App users click here.
According to Charlotte Fire, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of Interstate 85 near Bill Graham Parkway. One person was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to Medic.
From the scene it appears that a white car smashed against the concrete barrier near exit 33. A tractor trailer was also pulled over and appears to be involved, but so far authorities have not said how the wreck occured.
Charlotte Fire says 21 firefighters were able to get the person out of the vehicle in 12 minutes.
All lanes of Interstate 85 north were blocked. Traffic along the northbound lanes resembled a parking lot. As of 10 a.m. all lanes were back open and traffic was flowing smoothly.
