CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - Two apartments and even a car hit by several bullets in Steele Creek. Now one family wants to know who fired shots at their home.
Eymar Ortiz showed FOX 46 how close the bullet got to his head.
"The bullet hole is right here and before rearranging my room, I had this night stand here. My head was right next to it. The bullet entered in this direction," Ortiz said.
Ortiz only recently found the bullet when his mother rearranged his room and the bullet fell out of his night stand and hit the floor.
"This is where the bullet got stuck. It went through the wall, came through here and it got stuck here, but because the night stand is reinforced, it didn't go through," Ortiz said.
The family says it's been a while since they heard shots go off at night but they've heard them a couple different times.
"We've heard shootings, like 2 or 3, but this is the first time that a home ends up with a bullet hole," Ortiz said.
They don't know where it came from or who did the shooting but say a lot of people who aren't allowed on the property fish at their lake and cause issues.
This isn't the only case in Steele Creek. About 10 miles down the road another report documents a bullet going through the wall into this apartment on Lauren's Ridge road landing on the bed.
Another police report filed for a car that was shot into right in the busy Rivergate Shops.
Ortiz still doesn’t know what to think of it
"The truth is that this is difficult to process," Ortiz worries next time one of his family members won't be as lucky. "No one got hurt, but what scares me the most is that my brother may get hurt."
