ALEXANDER COUNTY, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - Two women have been arrested after leading deputies on a high speed chase through multiple counties.
Tiffany Ann Dickerson, 28, of Taylorsville, and Spring Marie Fassett, 26, of Statesville were both arrested following the high speed pursuit. Dickerson has been charged with DWI and felony flee to elude. Fassett was taken in for outstanding felony probation violation warrants unrelated to the traffic stop.
The Alexander Sheriff's Office said on Saturday, Oct. 14 a deputy observed a vehicle on Smith Farm Rd. in Stony Point with an equipment violation. The deputy followed for a short distance before attempting to pull the vehicle over.
As the vehicle approached the intersection of Smith Farm Rd. and U.S. Highway 64, the driver, Dickerson, abruptly turned onto U.S. Highway 64 and began traveling east, failing to heed to the officer’s lights and siren.
Deputies said the chase continued at a high rate of speed into Iredell County where Dickerson fled onto Interstate 40 East before finally stopping. The deputy, assisted by the NC Highway, took Dickerson and her passenger, Fassett, into custody.
An initial search of the vehicle found the pair was traveling with a number of drug paraphernalia items. The vehicle was towed by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office for further processing and more charges follow.
