No injuries after officer opens fire on U-Haul van in Mooresville

- No injuries have been reported after Mooresville Police said an officer fired shots at a suspect inside a U-Haul van late Sunday night. 

The shooting occurred just after 11 p.m. as a Mooresville police officer was investigating a suspicious vehicle on Shearers Road near Blackwedler Farm Drive. 

The suspicious vehicle, a U-Haul van, was parked in a parking lot outside of Fire Station 3 on Shearers Road, police said. No word on what led to the vehicle being hit with gunfire. 

FOX 46 Charlotte crews could see at least five bullet holes in the door of the U-Haul van. 

According to Mooresville police, the suspect was not injured and taken into custody. That person's name has not been released. 

As is protocol, the case is being investigated by the State Bureau of Investigation.
