Union County School's Deputy Superintendent of Instructional Technology and Operations Dr. Mike Webb will retire, effective July 1, 2016, FOX 46 has confirmed. His announcement comes one week after Superintendent Dr. Mary Ellis announced she would retire.
Webb was listed as an employee of Educatrix LLC., Ellis' company that also employed a former Lenovo executive. The SBI cleared the company and its employees of any wrongdoing after many people in the community questioned the company's involvement in a deal between Union County Schools and Lenovo to buy millions of dollars worth of computers.
Both Webb and Ellis involved in S.B.I. investigation centered around millions of dollars in Lenovo laptops bought by the district. Cleared.— David Sentendrey (@DavidFox46) March 8, 2016
Webb will retire one month after Ellis plans to retire. This leaves two vacancies at the very top of the school system.
