MONROE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - A former teacher at Parkwood Middle School in Union County has been charged with numerous sex offenses, according to the Union County Sheriff's Office.
Daniel Wade Stanford, 35, of Waxhaw, who was a Social Studies teacher, according to the school's website, is no longer employed with the school district.
Officials say Stanford submitted his resignation on May 16th. He was arrested the following day by the Union County Sheriff's Office. He faces 16 felony charges including four counts of indecent liberties, four counts of indecent liberties with a student, four counts of statutory sex offense, and four counts of crimes against nature. The alleged offenses occurred between 2014 and 2015. Deputies believes most of the offenses occurred on the school premises.
