CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - Charlotte Mecklenburg Police say four people were arrested after an officer was struck in a hit-and-run incident.
Around 2:40 p.m. on Monday, a CMPD officer was conducting an investigation and was hit by a car near Johnston Rd. and Walsh Blvd. in west Charlotte.
The suspect vehicle was located at a later time after being involved in a hit-and-run that took place on I-85 South near the weigh station. At that time, all the occupants jumped out of the car and ran.
State Highway Patrol also responded to the hit-and-run and found the empty suspect vehicle. None of the other drivers involved in the hit and run were injured.
The U.S. Whitewater Center was briefly placed on lockdown as police conducted a search for the suspects in the area.
Heavy police presence was seen outside of the Whitewater Center, and a perimeter was set up near the bridge on I-85 and Moore's Chapel Rd. Police say K9s located the suspects in a wooded area.
Christopher Arnold, 21, is charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon on a government official, hit-and-run, property damage, resist, obstruct, delay of a public officer.
Brooke Humphries, 17, Savon Riddick, 19, and Iya Jaroush, 21 are all charged with resist, obstruct and delay of a public officer.
