Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is making his rounds through Charlotte.
The Democratic presidential candidate spoke to supporters late Monday afternoon at the PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte.
Sanders says the American trade policy has hurt the country and sent millions of U.S. jobs overseas. It’s an issue he hopes will play well in North Carolina after the loss of textile and manufacturing jobs in the state.
Sanders also took a shot at Republican rival Donald Trump -saying democracy is not about billionaires buying elections.
Sanders also said, “In the midst of all that, you got Republican governors figuring out all kinds of ways to make it harder for poor people or people of color or old people to vote. That is a disgrace.”
If Sanders wants to defeat Clinton in North Carolina’s primary, he will need to appeal to African American voters.
