Victim in deadly Rock Hill crash identified

- The York County Corner's Office has identified a woman who was killed in a car accident in Rock Hill on Friday. 

Rock Hill police officers were dispatched to Heckle Blvd. and S. Cherry Rd. around 1:00 p.m. on April 6 for a vehicle collision. 

Upon arrival, officer found a 2014 Toyota Camry and a truck had crashed near the entrance of the QuickTrip at 990 S. Cherry Rd.

The driver of the Camry, Lorraine Stewart, 64, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger in the Camry was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

The driver and front seat passenger in the truck were not injured. 

Officials say the collision occurred when the Camry was making a left hand turn out of the QuickTrip onto Heckle Blvd. to go south as the truck was traveling north. The Camry failed to yield to the right of way to the truck. 

Rock Hill Police Department is investigating the crash. There are no charges pending at this time.
