CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - The driver of a Volkswagen Beetle has been transported to the hospital with serious injuries after crashing into a southeast Charlotte Bojangles Wednesday morning, police said.
The wreck happened around 9:15 a.m. at the Bojangles restaurant located on Randolph Road.
The driver, a woman, was taken to the hospital for treatment while the VW Bug was loaded onto a wrecker, police said. The business is closed Wednesday as code enforcement and health inspectors evaluate the situation.

Charlotte Fire tells FOX 46 Charlotte that no staff or customers were injured inside the restaurant.
Only one person was injured, the driver. When first responders arrived, the woman behind the wheel of the car that rammed into the restaurant had already gotten out the vehicle.
