CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - Numerous school districts in the High Country have announced closings and delays Thursday after snow swept through the area.
Alleghany County Schools and Ashe County Schools will both be operating on a 2-hour delay. Lees-McRae College said they will have a 90 minute delay Thursday morning.
Avery County Schools, Mitchell County Schools, and Watauga County Schools are all closed Thursday due to wintry weather. It is an optional teacher workday for all three counties.
WCS will be closed for students on Thurs., March 22. It is an Optional Teacher Workday. Staff may report on a 2-hour delay if needed for safety. The Snow Day program at HP will open at 7:30.
