LENOIR, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - A woman is facing murder charges after police say she delivered illegal drugs to another woman who overdosed.
Lenoir police arrested Erica Sierra Hass Friday in connection to the May overdose death of Hanna Marie Kincaid. On May 1, Kincaid was found dead after she had ingested a fatal amount of fentanyl, police said.
“Fentanyl is poison! Anyone suspected of selling and distributing this substance in our community will be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of our ability, period," said Lenoir Police Chief Scott Brown.
Hass is charged with one count of felony second degree murder by distribution of unlawful substance. She was taken into custody and received a $500,000 secured bond.
Her initial court date was set for July 9.
The Caldwell County Sheriff's Office and the District Attorney's Office assisted in the investigation.
