UPDATE (12:30 p.m. 6/22/2016): Police said they have transported two suspects facing multiple charges, including murder, in connection with the body of Amanda Kay Smith who was found burned along the side of a road in Rowan County last week.
The two suspects were taken from Horry, SC back to Rowan Co. Tuesday afternoon.
They waived extradition from the state of SC. Timothy Clarence Smith and Stephanie Dawn Hall were both served with their arrest warrants once they arrived at the Rowan Co. Magistrate's Office. They were held without bond being set.
UPDATE (10:15 a.m. 6/20/2016): Police said they have two people in custody facing multiple charges, including murder, in connection with the body of a woman who was found burned along the side of a road in Rowan County last week.
The body of Amanda Kay Smith, 33, of Salisbury, NC, was discovered Friday in the area of the 3000 block of Leonard Road.
Detectives said Smith's body had been partially burned. Rowan County Sheriff’s detectives were able to make a tentative identification of the victim through several tattoos located on the victim.
During their investigation, detectives also discovered that on Friday morning, several fire departments responded to a fire on Honeysuckle Lane in which the home was destroyed. Authorities determined that this fire was deliberately set, according to a press release.
Authorities learned that Smith was last seen in the presence of Timothy Clarence Smith Jr. (No Kin) and Stephanie Dawn Hall at a location in Salisbury. Detectives attempted to locate Timothy Smith and Stephanie Hall throughout the weekend without success, but through the course of the investigation were able to develop these individuals as suspects in the murder of Amanda Kay Smith, and to crime of arson of her home.
Detectives said they located Tim Smith and Stephanie Hall in Horry County, SC, near Myrtle beach Monday. Both The two face charges of Robbery, 2nd Degree Arson, and 1st Degree Murder and are being held in Horry County, and will be returned to Rowan County

A woman’s body was discovered along the side of the road in Rowan County Friday morning, according to police.
Investigators said Rowan County 911 received a call from that they found a body lying off the side of the road in the area of the 3000 block of Leonard Road.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office released the following statement:
Investigators have followed numerous leads, conducted interviews, and collected evidence throughout the day, with the goal of bringing to justice the person responsible for this death. The victim’s body has been sent to the NC State Medical Examiner’s Office in Raleigh, NC, where an autopsy will be conducted to confirm the cause of death and to aid in positive identification of the victim.
