MOORESVILLE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - A Statesville man is charged with carrying a concealed weapon without a permit after police say he pulled a gun on a coworker Monday at an I-77 construction project work site.
William Lee Power, 24, of Statesville was arrested Monday and removed from his work site on Alcove Road. According to Mooresville police, Power pulled a gun on a coworker after a joking turned serious. They say Power took the handgun out of a bag in his truck as a warning to the coworker.
Power was part of a subcontractor's team for Sugar Creek Construction, LLC working on part of the Interstate 77 construction project.

Sugar Creek released the following statement to FOX 46 Charlotte:
"Our safety team was made aware yesterday of an incident that occurred in our work zone with a subcontractor's team member. Police were notified and escorted the worker out of the work zone. The team member is banned from returning to the job site and their employer has been notified."
