SOUTH CAROLINA (FOX 46 WJZY) - Both York County and Chesterfield County Schools announced on Sunday that they will be closed Monday, Sept. 11 for all students and staff ahead of Hurricane Irma.
CCSD said, "With the forecasted 25 – 30 mph sustained winds we are concerned about the safety and welfare of our students and staff. All practices and activities are cancelled."
YSD said, "The latest weather forecast indicates the possibility of high sustained winds making it dangerous for school buses and other high-profile vehicles to travel on Monday. All school and district activities and events that were scheduled for Monday are cancelled."
District officials said they will continue to monitor conditions and will consult with emergency preparedness officials in their decision-making process.

- Rock Hill, SC schools
- York County, SC schools
- Chesterfield County, SC schools
- Fort Mill, SC (schools and district office)
- Clover, SC schools
- Lancaster, SC schools
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools said they are on a normal schedule Monday, Sept. 11. CMS said they're monitoring the weather closely, and will notify residents if conditions warrant a change.
