York County detention officer fired, accused of sex with inmate

- A York County detention officer has been fired after he reportedly engaged in a sexual act with an inmate, according to the York County Sheriff's Office.

Officer Brandon Anthony Hay was fired on Thursday, Sept. 6. He had been with the York County Sheriff's Office since Feb. 27, 2017.

Detention Center Command Staff received information this week regarding allegations of misconduct by Hay. It was alleged that Hay a female inmate engaged in a sexual encounter at the Detention Center.

After an internal investigation, sufficient policy violations were discovered that warranted Hay's termination, authorities said.

Due to the criminal aspect of the allegations, the State Lae Enforcement (SLED) was called to take over.
