York County sergeant shot in the line of duty returns to work

- Welcome back, Sergeant Buddy Brown!

The York County law enforcement officer was given a warm welcome when he returned to work on Tuesday following a deadly shooting that happened back in mid-January.

According to the York County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, Sgt. Brown will be working light duty while he continues to recover from his injuries.

Sgt. Brown was shot in the line of duty alongside Sgt. Randy Clinton, Det. Mike Doty, and Officer Kyle Cummings while responding to a domestic violence call that led to a massive manhunt.

The suspect, identified as Christian McCall, was reportedly assaulting a woman at a residence when they received the 911 call just after 10 p.m. Jan. 15 along Farrier Lane. By the time law enforcement got on scene, McCall had fled the house on foot, sparking the large manhunt.

Three of the four law enforcement officers survived. Det. Mike Doty passed away due to his injuries.

In February, York Police Sgt. Kyle Cummings returned to work.
