York Intermediate School employee accused of hiding camera in classroom restroom

- A man is facing charges after a video camera was found inside a school restroom in York, officials said.

According to York Police, a student found the small video camera in a restroom located inside a classroom at York Intermediate School on November 16.

The student took the camera to a York School District employee about what she found and they said they would make the administration aware, police said. When the girls' mother did not hear anything from the school about the incident, she contacted law enforcement.

Police contacted York Intermediate School Administration who were unaware of the incident.

School officials worked with police to identify the employee as 44-year-old Jonathan Lamont King. King turned over the camera to police and a computer was seized from his home.

King is facing charges of two counts of voyeurism and one count of first degree exploitation of a minor.

King turned himself in on January 3 and was booked into the Moss Justice Center.
