CHARLOTTE - A rapper claiming to be the target of an uptown shooting in Charlotte during CIAA last year could possibly return to Charlotte for this years festivities.
Young Dolph made a song called "100 Shots," after police recovered 100 shell casings on North Caldwell Street a year ago.
The shots started as the rapper was leaving an unofficial CIAA party.
The rapper is rumored to be coming back this week to host an event.
His fans are excited about that possibility-but also cautious.
CMPD says they are preparing to help with security just in case the Memphis-based rapper does indeed show up for CIAA weekend.
We've reached out to the rapper's attorney to get official confirmation and we are waiting to hear back.
