Officers Involved in Accident while helping Driver

Two CMPD officers were involved in an accident after they'd pulled over to help a driver.

The accident was on the 485 outer loop, just west of Beatties Ford Road. The officers Rhonda Anderson and John Locklear have gone to the Carolinas Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries and have been released.

They were helping another driver that had pulled off the side of the road when a car in the far left lane lost control and started spinning. A tractor trailer hit the out-of-control car, which then hit the officer's vehicle's on the side of the road. Both officers were inside their cars when they were hit.
