EMERALD ISLE, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - Emerald Isle Police confirmed Monday that the body of a missing North Carolina teen has been recovered.
The Coast Guard had been searching for a missing teen swimmer after his swimming partner was rescued Friday.
Around 4 p.m. on Friday officials responded to a distress call regarding two swimmers in rough ocean conditions.

According to the Emerald Isle Facebook page the swimmer who was rescued on Friday is in critical condition and was under water for 14 minutes and has severe brain damage.
There were numerous Tornado Warnings stretching across the state of North Carolina on Friday with severe weather passing through the area.
