CHARLOTTE, NC - Once again, the Carolina Panthers and Seattle Seahawks will battle in the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs. Last year, Seattle dispatched the Panthers on its way to an NFC Championship title.
"To be honest with you, I don't think we were ready for it," said Roman Harper, Panthers safety. "We wouldn't have been ready. We were excited to be there. We were excited to have a ticket to the dance last year. This year we have a better looking date, because we're 15-1 and it's at home, and we're looking forward to them having to come here."
Panthers fans may be looking for a little bit of revenge after last year's playoff loss, but Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said the team has no need to focus on that game.
"Different teams," Rivera said. "That's the thing that everybody has to understand. These are different teams. They said it well (Sunday) when people were talking to them, I heard some of their comments that they're a different football team just like we are. We're a different football team as well."
It won't be easy taking down the two-time defending conference champs, but that's a challenge the Panthers embrace.
"If you can be the best, beat the best," said Josh Norman, Panthers cornerback. "Right now we're at the top of our game, and they are as well. We just got to know that come one o'clock on Sunday, get up, get hot, get ready to go."
Sunday, the Panthers will try to make sure there's a new champion this year in the NFC.
