Kemba Walker becomes Hornets all-time scoring leader

- Charlotte Hornets guard Kemba Walker made history on Wednesday, becoming the team’s all-time leader in points.

Kemba set the record when he hit a lay-up with 20 seconds to go in the end of the game. While the Hornets lost 118-105 to the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Spectrum Center, Kemba is still walking away victorious.

Charlotte Hornets Chairman Michael Jordan released a statement on Kemba’s record-setting night saying:

“I’m really happy for Kemba. Becoming a franchise’s all-time leading scorer is a big accomplishment and it’s a testament to his hard work, dedication and passion for the game of basketball. He exemplifies what it means to be a Hornet. His effort, leadership and commitment to our team and the City of Charlotte is second to none. I’m proud to have him on our team. Congratulations, Kemba!”

Kemba now has 9,841 career points and broke the old mark held by Del Curry by two points. He finished Wednesday night’s game with 21 points.
