Kids Reflect on getting Panthers Game Ball

A handful of kids are lucky enough to get a game ball each Panthers game. Players say this tradition began with Cam Newton, but other Panthers player quickly began participating in what is now called the "Sunday giveaway."

"If you get a ball, you're going to be happy for like, the rest of your life," said Jaden, 11, in a video produced by FOX Sports South.

 
'Sunday Giveaway' brings more than smiles to young Panthers fans

FOX Sports caught up with some of the lucky young Panthers fans who came home with a game ball.

These children, and their reactions, often get extra attention, as cameras for the national broadcast of the game focus on their faces, and people begin to react on social media.

"I never imagined it would be what it is today," Cam Newton said.

The Director of Ticketing says the Panthers have seen a shift in requests for seating in the end zone because of it.
