Most of the FOX 46 viewing area is under a slight risk for severe storms this weekend. Rain and storm chances continue through Sunday.
A cold front will continue to approach from the west through Saturday night and late Sunday. While it won’t be an all-weekend washout with some dry breaks Saturday and again on Sunday, anyone with outdoor plans should also plan to head indoors if severe weather threatens.
The main threat is damaging wind gusts; however, hail along with brief flooding from downpours could also develop. The risk of severe storms is highest for Saturday.
The front will push east of the Charlotte area Sunday evening, leading to a drier start to next week.
