15-year-old charged in baseball bat attack, robbery of 2 people in south Charlotte

A 15-year-old boy is facing multiple charges in connection to two separate armed robbery cases; one in which he robbed and attacked two people with a baseball bat in south Charlotte, police said.

The two robberies happened one day a part, according to CMPD. The first robbery happened on Friday, Jan. 11 along Antlers Lane. The second robbery occurred at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 in the 3600 block of Park South Station Boulevard.

In the second robbery, police said two people were going for a walk around their neighborhood when a van pulled up and two suspects jumped out and started attacking them with metal baseball bats.

The two suspects reportedly chased down the two people and demanded cash.

The victims were able to call 911 immediately after the two suspects left the scene. Police said they were able to identify and charge a 15-year-old boy with armed robbery after identifying the vehicle. His name is not being released due to his age, police said.
