CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - An 18-year-old is facing multiple charges in connection to a shooting that injured a 16-year-old at a south Charlotte apartment complex, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.
The shooting happened at 7:52 p.m. Wednesday, March 20 in the 6500 block of Walsh Boulevard.
As officers arrived on scene, they located a 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound. He was taken to Atrium Health for treatment.
CMPD said the victim and suspect were known to each other and the shooting occurred outside of an apartment complex. The suspect, Makel Javon Sadler, 18, stayed at the scene and agreed to speak with detectives. Following an interview, he was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and shooting in the city limits, and destruction of evidence.
