An additional arrest has been made in connection to the murder of a grandmother last month in Rowan County, according to the sheriff's office.

Melanie Clark, 62, was discovered shot to death inside her home Monday, March 26 by her family. During the investigation, deputies identified the suspect as the victim's grandson, Joshua Clark.

Clark was taken into custody Tuesday, March 27 after detectives executed a search warrant along Happy Lake Road in Rockwell. Clark was charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

The sheriff's office said the victim's pocketbook was stolen during the deadly armed robbery, and a financial card was used after her death at several locations. Those using the stolen card had their face covered to hide their identity from the ATM security video.

Two additional suspects were soon identified as Creaig Wilson Helms Jr. and Corey Wayne Harrington, both of whom are associates of Joshua Clark.

Helms was taken into custody on Wednesday, April 4 and placed in the Detention Center under a $10,000 bond. Harrington has yet to be arrested and police continue to search for him.
