3 arrested in Lincolnton for robbing storage unit, police say

Three people were arrested after a storage unit was robbed in Lincolnton on Tuesday, police say. (Lincoln County Sheriff's Office)

Three people were arrested for robbing a storage facility on Tuesday in Lincolnton, according to authorities.

Officials responded to a call around 9 p.m. at 400 Elm Grove Road in Lincoln County from the victim.

The owner of the storage unit was contacted and surveillance video was able to provide footage of a white pickup truck entering and exiting the storage unit.

The three suspects were seen taking items from the victim's storage unit and placing it into another storage unit.

Darrell Shelton, 50, admitted to taking the items, valued at about $2,000, from the victim. Shelton's passengers, Charles Stiles, 43, and Marlowe Anderson, 51, also gave a confession.

Shelton is from Mount Holly, Stiles is from Panama City, Florida, and Anderson is from Lincolnton.

Most of the stolen items were returned to the rightful owner.

The three arrested face multiple charges including breaking and entering and possession of a controlled substance.
