6 teens in custody after reports of shots fired at Discovery Place, 1 charged

Officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department took six teens into custody Wednesday night after shots were fired in uptown Charlotte. 

Police were called to investigate around 7:00 p.m. at the Discovery Place in the 100 block of South Tryon St. after it was reported that shots had been fired.

CMPD said only one person, an 18-year-old believed to be the shooter, has been charged for possession of the gun.

The suspects in this case have not yet been identified.
