One person was killed and two others were injured in Caldwell County after straight line winds brought a tree down on a car, police say.

The incident happened just before 3:00 p.m. near the entrance of Green Mountain Recreational Park at 2495 Dimmette Rd.

Upon investigating, officials believe  Albright was leaving Green Mountain Park in a silver Chevrolet Silverado when a storm moving through the area caused a tree to fall, smashing his truck.

Two other family members who were inside of the truck with Albright were taken to Caldwell UNC Healthcare to be treated for minor injuries. They're expected to make a full recovery.
