Airport traffic eases up after busy Thanksgiving Travel

From baggage claim, to the security checkpoint, to the roads leading up to the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, things were busier than normal, but moving a lot better after last Wednesday's busy travel day.

"The traffic was pretty bad once I got to the airport, but then there was really a lot of people in line so I got here pretty quickly," said one traveler.

Airport officials expected Sunday to be the busiest travel day of the Thanksgiving weekend. They projected more than 28,000 people will start their travel day flying out from the Queen City. That doesn't include the passengers arriving back into town.

Those who are returned to the Queen City say the early flights proved successful in beating the crowds.
