GASTONIA, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - The Gastonia Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating an attempted murder suspect who is considered armed and dangerous.
Zion Demetrious Mitchell, 17, of Gastonia, is charged with attempted first-degree murder in the shooting of Devon Malik Phillips, 19 of Gastonia.
The incident occurred on Barkley Street at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9. Phillips was shot in the leg and chest, and transported to the hospital. He is expected to recover.
