A pair of individuals were arrested on Sunday after officers responded to an armed robbery near Old Ardrey Kell Road, according to authorities.

Javon Turner, 26, and Roderia Kelly, 22, were both taken into custody by CMPD after a brief police chase ensued following a traffic stop.

Officers arrived at the initial scene of the crime and discovered a victim injured from an alleged altercation with the two suspects. The victim stated that Turner displayed a knife and demanded a cell phone and money.

Turner and Kelly fled the scene in a BMW, and shortly afterwards were pulled over during a traffic stop. Kelly, who was driving, attempted to flee and a police pursuit ensued. The vehicle came to a stop near Arrowood Road and I-77 and Turner tried to flee on foot, where he was quickly apprehended.

Kelly was charged with operating a vehicle without a license and an expired registration, and eluding law enforcement. Turner is being charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault, and resisting arrest.
