Rock Hill, SC - Thanks to tips from the public, police charged a suspect for hitting an officer with his car. Jeremy Jackson is charged with assault and battery, leaving the scene of an accident and other charges for the incident that happened the week of Thanksgiving.
Lieutenant Tony Breeden noticed an empty white Cadillac sitting at a gas pump running with loud music playing at the Kangaroo Express of Tinsley Way.
The officer stopped to check on the car when a man came out of the store and told the officer he was the driver of the car.
Police say during the conversation the man jumped into the drivers seat and put the Cadillac in drive, hitting Breeden's cop car parked in front of the man's car.
The officer opened the man's door commanding him to turn it off when the man put his car in reverse pushing Breeden into a brick column.
Breeden was not injured, according to police.
Jackson is awaiting extradition to Rock Hill.
