Tadaran Jaquan McDonald, 21, has been charged with murder in the death of 22-year-old Kenneth Armstrong, police said.
Officers received a call about a shooting at a public pool at the intersection of Clifton Meadow Drive and Twin Falls Lane around 7:24 p.m. Wednesday, June 19. Anderson was found shot by others in the parking lot in the Callaway Plantation Community.
The caller told police that Anderson left for the hospital in a car with another person. At 7:38 p.m., 911 received a call from Novant Health Matthews Medical Center at 1500 Matthews Township Parkway regarding a man who had arrived at their hospital.
A short time later Anderson was pronounced deceased.
"Just really scary to see all these cars and know someone died that close to our house," a neighbor told FOX 46. She said she didn't even hear the gun shots go off.
McDonald was located Thursday and a traffic stop was made on a vehicle he was riding in. He was taken into custody and interviewed at CMPD headquarters before he was charged. He's currently being held at the Mekclenburg County Jail.
