CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - Charlotte Mecklenburg police have arrested 47-year-old Marchell Bright-Walters in connection to an overnight death in the NoDa neighborhood, authorities said.
The call for service came in around 12:15 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23. Officers were called to the 200 block of Mathson Ave. in reference to an assault with a deadly weapon.
Upon arrival, officers found a man with a gunshot wound laying on the side of the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bright-Walters is being charged with voluntary manslaughter. She was interviewed at police headquarters and then transferred to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.
Detectives are investigating the scene and working to determine if there are any witnesses. No other information has been released at this time.
