Arrest made in north Charlotte shooting

CMPD has made an arrest in a deadly shooting that killed a 63-year-old woman. 

The shooting happened Friday night in the 4500 block on Wynbrook Way in north Charlotte.

Police arrested Nazah Raine James.  She is charged with Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, and Discharging Firearm into Occupied Property.

The victim has been identified as 63-year-old Harriet Witherspoon Cromartie.

The shooting happened just before 8 p.m. at Tanglewood Apartments in the Derita-Statesville neighborhood. App users click here.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said two female victims were located in a car. Cromartie was pronounced dead on scene. The other female in the vehicle was transported to the hospital by Medic for serious injuries. Police said shots were fired into the car.

It's unclear what led up to the shooting.

No arrests have been made at this time.
