Arrest made, victim identified in deadly Huntersville shooting

The Huntersville Police Department has made an arrest in connection to a deadly shooting that occurred Wednesday morning at a local apartment complex. 

Ivan Fernando Petty, 23, has been taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, discharging a weapon into a occupied property, and possession of a firearm by a felon. 

Police said a second suspect has been identified and additional information will be forthcoming.

The shooting happened shortly after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26 in the 11000 block of Bryton Pass Lane in Huntersville. As officers arrived on scene, they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

Zonta Monto Dunlap, 28, of Concord, N.C., was pronounced dead on scene. The second victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
