IREDELL COUNTY, NC (FOX 46) - The Iredell County Sheriff's Office made their largest oxycontin pills bust last week.
Two men traveling south on I-77 in a Land Rover were stopped by deputies with the ICE Team for traffic violations.
The deputies asked to see the vehicle registration and when Anthony Prettyman pulled the paperwork from the glove box, they noticed a bag of marijuana fall out, according to the sheriff's office.
A search of the vehicle was conducted and a "false bottom" paint can was found with a street value of $160,000 oxycontin pills inside, according to the sheriff's office. A half-ounce of marijuana was found in a Nike shoebox as well.
Investigators seized the 2009 Land Rover and over $2,000 in cash.
Anthony Jaron Prettyman and Cory Michale Laurenson were taken to the Iredell County Detention Center and charged with one felony count each of trafficking in schedule II controlled substance by possession, maintain a vehicle for the transport of controlled substance and possession of marijuana. Both received a $2,000,000 secured bond.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
