Belk Bowl a win-win for fans and businesses

Fans were in for a real treat during the 16th annual Belk Bowl at Belk of America Stadium. 

A record setting day saw Wake Forest outlast Texas A&M, 55-52.

This was the most points scored in Belk Bowl history where it was announced more than 32,000 people were in attendance. 

"You can't go anymore than like going three or four steps without someone yelling 'Go Deacs' or someone pulling you aside and saying 'hello,'" said one Wake Forest fan. 

Some fans from Texas making a weekend out of their first ever trip to Charlotte. 

"We're going to to the game and tour around Charlotte since we don't go home until Sunday," said a Texas  A&M fan. 

Friday's game wasn't only a win for fans, but businesses in and around the Epicenter. 

"We've seen an increase of families especially with hotels opening up for the Belk Bowl. We've seen several families, several different times," said Andrew Cuppet the Bar Manager at Strike City.
