Better Business Bureau provides tips for purchasing Super Bowl tickets

Panthers fans are now anxiously waiting for the Super Bowl. A huge crowd celebrated Sunday night outside Bank of America Stadium after the team clinched the NFC championship title

Some websites are selling Super Bowl tickets for thousands of dollars. The Better Business Bureau says they want Panthers fans to be careful before making any purchase. They’re advising fans to only purchase from credible  websites like stubhub.

Tom Bartholomy with the BBB says when buying tickets, also make sure you book travel and hotel from reputable travel agents.

He says counterfeit tickets can be so sophisticated, it's hard to tell the difference at the gate.

"If they printed about 100 of them, there would be a one percent chance of making it through the gate so get there early. That's basically what we would recommend then,” Bartholomy said.

While fans contemplate purchasing a ticket, everyone's just happy to see their home team make it to the big game.

The better business is also advising people interested in buying to pay with a credit card, because credit cards offer you buyer protection.

Here’s a rundown of the tips BBB has for sports fans:

1. Select a reputable travel agency
2. Read the fine print and terms before purchasing a travel package.
3. Pay by credit card
4. Make sure the package includes game ticket, hotel, transportation, airfare, and meal expenses.
