Bodies of missing uncle and nephew recovered from Lake Norman

The bodies of two boaters who were reported missing over the weekend have been found, North Carolina Wildlife confirmed Monday morning. 

Sgt. Ron Robertson said the bodies of Frederick Martin and his nephew, Ernest Norris Jr., were recovered in a cove near McCrary Creek on Lake Norman. 

Frederick's body was found around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, July 1 and emergency search crews located Ernest's body around 11 p.m. Sunday, according to Sgt. Robertson. 

Charlotte Fire was called out to assist Mecklenburg County and Lake Norman Fire Dept. with the search after they received a call of an overturned boat found in a cove early Saturday.
