A judge set bond for the man accused of murdering a Charlotte school teacher.

The judge set a secured bond of $250,000 for Angelo Smith Thursday. Smith is accused of killing his girlfriend and CMS teacher, Bianca Tanner.

Smith reported Tanner missing back in June 2014. He was arrested soon after on unrelated charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, violation of parole and breaking and entering.

July 2014 Smith was named a person of interest in Tanner's disappearance and the remains of Tanner were found in a wooded area near Southwest Charlotte. Smith was re-arrested and charged with first degree murder of Tanner.

Smith is scheduled back in court on Thursday, September 24th. If Smith makes bond he will be in the CMPD electronic monitoring program, according to the clerk of court.
