Charles Aerinn Poole was arrested as part of an undercover investigation into recent drug-related deaths in the area, according to Boone police.
Investigators identified Poole as a source to distribute heroin and other narcotics for local college-aged residents.
On Tuesday, November 3, Poole was taken into custody during a traffic stop after a drug-sniffing dog alerted officers to controlled suspects in the car. Officers discovered approximately 2.5 grams of heroin in the car, believed to be worth $1.500.
Poole faces nine felony drug possession charges, and one misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
The conclusion of the operation was a relief to Lieutenant Chris Hatton, who said that the community has "suffered the loss of too many young people" in the past year.
With the exception of illegal drugs, officials said that they do not see signs of foul play in the related deaths.
