Brother of 17-year-old shot, killed seeking justice

"The only thing Slim wanted to do is talk to females, go to parties and go to school," said his brother, Deon Shannon. 

The brother of Daquan "Slim" Shannon speaking exclusively to FOX 46 about the little brother who was your typical teenager. 

"He's a happy person when he comes around you. You feel the vibe, like y'all about to have fun," said Shannon. 

The 17-year-old shot and killed overnight Saturday while walking to QT to get food with some friends.

"He will truly be missed from his family. This hurts to the core," said his cousin, Mario Black. 

Black, a community activist and founder of the Million Youth March Of Charlotte adds Slim's personality was one of a kind.

'You knew his presence was there and he provided smiles for the family," Black said. 

While family remembers a teen who was known for his love of sports, a plea for those responsible to come forward. 

 "I hope he just turns himself in because that will be the right thing," said Shannon. "I just hope we can get justice."

"It has to be eating you alive that you're responsible for taking one's life and to have a family grieving," said Black.  "The right thing to do is turn yourself in."
